Student Biography

Michael DePodwin is currently in his final year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University. In May 2016, he is expected to graduate with a Bachelor's in Architectural Enginering (B.A.E) within the option of Construction Management. In addition, he will be receiving a minor in Architectural Studies from his semester abroad in Roma, Italy.

Throughout his college career, Mike has had the opportunity to experience many facets of the construction industry through internships with three different CM firms. His first foray into construction was with Jay Shapiro & Associates: a CM Agency based in the New York City metro area. For three summers, he performed cost analysis, reviewed architectural drawings, and learned about the inner workings of the building industry. Mike has also been fortunate to spend time as a intern field and project engineer for Mortenson Co. and Alexander Building Construction, Inc respectively. Upon graduation, Mike is eager to begin a career along the project management path and continue his lifetime passion in construction.

Outside of academics, Mike is a lover of music and the arts. He is a four year member of the Penn State Glee Club, PSU's oldest student organization, and is proud to be its president in its 126th year. The Glee Club performs around campus and the world and Mike is excited to lead the choir in a tour to Iceland this summer. Mike is also involved in the largest student run philanthropy in the world: THON.
